Name: |
Neurodiversity And Older People |
Description: |
Developing an understanding of neurodiversity and its impact as we age via discussion around the personal experience of living with neurodiversity. We aim to help each other with advice, respect, listening and being supportive, creating a non judgemental space where we can comfortably share issues. Useful information (articles, books, videos) is also shared amongst members via our WhatsApp group. We will discuss such things as masking, setting boundaries, the impact of late diagnosis, self advocacy, stimming, dealing with neurotypical social situations, burn outs and melt downs. For people who are diagnosed as neurodiverse (autism, ADHD, dyslexia) or who suspect they may be and others who may be interested in finding out more about neurodiversity and people who find themselves in caring roles with neurodiverse family members or friends. This isn't, in any way, attempting to replace other clinical support services that may be available. New members and guests are very welcome. |
